Milestone achieved. 🏁🙏 Finally managed to be “Bilanzbuchhalter” (European Management Account) 🤓😄

Which had begun with an evening class (“for dummies”) in September 2014 just to gain little additional knowledge in Accounting – intention was to get kind of acceptance from CFOs who are (by definition 😉) wary of IT-guys (strictly speaking of ERP-consultants) who are promising to improve their financial systems and processes … probably for good reason 😏 – (temporarily?) ended with my successfully written and oral exams last Saturday. 🙌

Due to my cute little baby-girls (Selina, 2 years & Laura, born in April 2020) I repeatedly had to “escape” from home to find some place to study: my parents’ home, my place of deployment at COUNT IT and nearly every McDonalds store in the immediate vicinity (Steyr, Ennsdorf, Dornach/Linz, Unterweitersdorf) 🍔🍟🙈

I remember content of our first two entire evening sessions six years ago: how to calculate percentages 🧮🤔 – just to ensure that we are able to determine amount of VAT/taxes (obviously no quickstart 😅). Five evening classes later, subject matters became challenging, especially for an IT-professional “lost in an Accountant’s territory/world” 📊🗺️: Balancing, annual fin. statements 📒, reconciliation of book/taxable income ➕➖, cost accounting 💰, fields of law (especially Austrian tax law 🧾🇦🇹), corporate funding/capital transactions 💸, …

Conclusion: I have steadily realized benefits of being skilled in the interdisciplinary field of software & financial management. No regrets – though preparation times were pretty tough. 🚀💪

“little party never killed nobody” 🍻🥂🍾 … because of COVID-19 our adult education institute (“WIFI Perg”) was not allowed to stage a common certificate award ceremony.
So I ensured to have a tiny, self-organized “after-exam party” in the backyard of the facility 🥳 – of course with appropriate distance (!) 😉🐘
“Don’t wait until you reach your goal to be proud of yourself.
Be proud of each step you take toward reaching the goal.”
